frozen yogurt drops

yuM :”>

These are so easy to make, I’m not even sure it technically counts as a recipe. But turning yogurt into bite-sized frozen drops makes for the perfect summery snack, so recipe or not, I’m bloggin’ about it.

Originally, I wanted to share this around the 4th of July as a red, white and blue bowl of yogurt drops, but the strawberry yogurt ended up being pink, the blueberry yogurt was a light lavender and before I knew it, my festive snack idea was blown to shit. Oh well, pastel drops for June 6th it is!

You’ll need…

  • Yogurt (I used Greek yogurt)
  • A zip-loc or plastic sandwich bag
  • Pan(s)
  • Spatula
  • A freezer

DIRECTIONS

  1. Spoon the yogurt into a plastic bag. Cut a small hole in one of the corners.
  2. Squeeze little drops of yogurt onto the pan.
  3. Freeze for at least three hours. I took them out after…

tie-dye maxi

I want to have this kind of maxi dress. Pretty hot huh 🙂

I found this maxi dress at Arden B several years ago, and still love it today. Its casual, bright tie-dye pattern is paired with a sexy, low-cut black bodice and open back, making it the perfect mix of dress-up and dress-down.

Today, I’m taking the dress-down route, and pairing the maxi with simple gladiator wrap sandals (“Jesus sandals” as I like to call them). Then, because even shoes seemed too fancy for the beach, I went barefoot.

I had an ambitious artistic vision for the shoot in which I’d be emerging from the waves with the dress soaking wet (so ludicrous, so high fashion) but then I remembered who I was, hoped on a couple rocks and called it a day.

red, white & blueberry gelatin cheesecake with graham cracker crust

I really love blueberries. 🙂

pumps & iron

Blueberries, why must you be PURPLE?!? Just humor me, pretend they’re blue, and marvel at this festive Fourth of July dessert.

As you’ll see, I’ve done my best to make it as healthy as dessert can be. I’ve cut out a ton of sugar, and I’ve swapped out some junk for applesauce and Greek yogurt. I’ll start with general assembly instructions (it’s a time-intensive one!), and break down each layer in detail below. I will say, one thing I’ll do differently next time I make it is put the cheesecake layer on top as a frosting instead of down below. It kinda mushed everywhere under the weight of the gelatin layers.

GENERAL DIRECTIONS see below for layer details

  1. De-leaf and chop pint of strawberries, toss with 1 tbsp sugar and set aside (it’ll make them soft and syrupy for when it’s time to puree).
  2. Make and bake graham cracker crust.
